Philosophy of Education
My Philopsphy of Education, is to enhance experiences that will effect students postively in their futures. To create buiding blocks that they will be able to rely upon and distinguish different levels of understanding. Students rely on teachers to provide them a greater knowledge of societies ethics, structure, accountability and the ability to use thier creativity in presenting all the areas of curricula. Students need several kinds of experiences to gain a specific understanding of certain concepts and the multi intelligences method of Gardner, in my opinion, can demonstrate the greatest form of authentic teaching.
This picture by Kim Anderson provides the perfect example of teaching. We must try many things to gain a good knowledge of simple concepts.
A Collection of Events That Defines Me
When I was about fifteen years old. I had a date to go out with a cute boy named Nathan. He was going to pick me up to go out with some friends to a movie. The night arrived and I had a huge zit on my nose. There was weeping and wailing and the gnashing of the teeth. I called all my friends and sat on the sofa crying. How could I go on a date with this huge zit on my face?
My father came into the room and sat next to me and asked me what was wrong? I explained my situation between my princes- like sniffs, that I would have to cancel my date. My father then told me to come with him to the hallway mirror and look at myself. He then proceeded to tell me about understanding myself, loving myself, and about self-acceptance. How he knew he wasn’t the best looking or smartest man, the strongest or the richest man. But each morning he looked in the mirror beat his chest and told the world that John Curtis was a man worth knowing. He helped me to understand who I am and how even a zit should not stand in the way of anything I wanted in life.I could have told you my defining moment was; The first musical solo I performed.The first kiss of a young man at sweet sixteen.
The first high school dance, school graduation and car purchase.Falling in love and marriage.Finding a career.The birth of my first son and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th child.
Being “Kristy” and being called “Mom”identity crisis.
Understanding responsibility, patience and unconditional love.
My Divorce
Accepting my faults and having another identity crisis.
Setting new life’s goals and understanding my new responsibility.
Buying new books for college again.
All of these events have the beginning of a personal definition.
However, beating my chest and looking at myself in the mirror has become my daily affirmation and this collection of events are what have defined who I am today.
When I walk out my door, I know that I am Kristy Keddington and my actions, my beauty, my strength, my wealth and knowledge are my what defines me. For each day a new zit has arrived and needs to be conquered yet again.
President’s Day
So the day represent respect for
all the Presidents past and the one
that is currrent. Here I sit happy to have the day
to myself and no responsbility to adhere to.
I thank my forefathers for that….the peace of
simpley sitting, resting my body and I feel
gratitude for those whom have come before me.
Thankful that today, I may attend a movie, buy
a bucket of popcorn and be happy.

I am currently a SLCC Student and I am working at the Boys and Girls Club in South Valley. I have four great kids and they offer me beauty in my life. I look forward to the wonderful way they will continually challange me.
